BRENHAM FIREMEN RESPOND TO EXPLOSION

The Brenham Fire Department was dispatched at about 2 this (Wednesday) afternoon to the report of an explosion at Premier Metal Buyers in the 1500 block of Highway 36 North.  When firemen arrived; they found a vehicle that was being scrapped in flames.  They quickly extinguished the fire using foam and water.

Employees at the scene report that the vehicle was being scrapped when something at the rear exploded, setting the car on fire.  They said that the fuel tank had been drained, but something, possibly in the trunk exploded.  No one was reported injured in the incident.
