BRENHAM HERITAGE MUSEUM HOSTING A PHOTO DAY NEXT TUESDAY

The Brenham Heritage Museum will be hosting a photo day as part of their Public History project next Tuesday.  Museum Director Doug Price says that thousands of undiscovered photographs lie in boxes, drawers, and scrapbooks in almost every home in Washington County.  The public is invited to bring those photos in Tuesday to the Brenham Bus Depot and have them digitally scanned at no cost.  You can take the originals back home the same day along with a digital copy, and the museum will have a digital copy to archive and share with future generations.

The Brenham Heritage Museum has a sizable collection of photos but is always looking to add to it.  They have set aside 4 days this year for residents to bring in photos. Future events will be scheduled for residents to bring in actual objects (instead of photographs) and for oral recordings of stories.

The first Public Photo History event is next Tuesday the 27th from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.  Any image taken in Washington County or related to someone from Washington County is welcome. Any quantity is welcome, though large collections of images may require leaving them for a day or two.
