BRENHAM HIGH SCHOOL ARCHERS COMPETE IN STATE MEET

A Brenham High School student finished first in his age group at the State Archery competition Friday.  Richard Nelson finished 1st out of 113 - 11th grade boys competing at the National Archery in the Schools Championship in Belton.  Nelson will now advance to the National competition held in Kentucky in May.  Also competing Friday was Brenham High School sophomore Brianna Hill.  She finished 33rd out of 86 – 10th grade girls competing.  Both archers are coached and sponsored by Michael Pittman.

  1. Congratulations to both of you for qualifying for state. That is such a great experience. RC qualifying for nationals is an amazing feat. Those who are not familiar with the NASP program may not realize how amazing of a feat that is. We are talking about the best of the best across the entire nation. It is an incredible accomplishment. Best of luck at nationals. Hopefully next year the entire team will qualify for the State Tournament. Many thanks to Mr. Pittman for taking over the program and helping to provide an opportunity for these and all students at BHS.
