BRENHAM HIGH SCHOOL JUNIOR ROTC PLACES FIRST IN TOMBALL
The Brenham High School Marine Corps JROTC program placed First Overall at the Tomball Memorial High School Drill Meet this past Saturday.
The drill team received 7 First Place trophies: Armed Drill Inspection, Armed Drill Regulation, Unarmed Drill Inspection, Unarmed Drill Regulation, Academic Team Current Events, Male Colorguard Inspection, and Male Physical Training.
Female Colorguard Inspection and Unarmed Drill Exhibition both received second place.
The Academic Team Oral Presentation received third place.
Two cadets, Britian Counsil and L'Rynce Matthews, placed in the Individual Knockout Competition. Counsil finished second and Matthews finished third in this event.
The team also took home the First Place Overall Meet Champion trophy at the Jack C. Hays High School Texas Roundup Military Skills Meet on March 7.
The BHS MCJROTC will host its first drill meet on April 25 at BHS. The public is invited to attend the competition.

While it’s unfortunate that the JROTC unit is often forgotten about in our community, it’s great to seem them get recognized! We have such a good JROTC unit here in town that does an outstanding job at teaching leadership skills to its students. Hope the positive publicity continues!
