BRENHAM HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT KILLED IN WRECK

A 17-year old Brenham High School student is dead after a one-vehicle accident Wednesday morning.

Evaristo Jaramillo was killed when his 1999 Chevy SUV overturned on Old Gay Hill Rd at Rock Pit Lane early Wednesday morning.

According to DPS, just before 9:00 a.m., a caller notified 9-1-1 of an overturned vehicle submerged in water off Rock Pit Lane, just off Old Gay Hill Road, west of Highway 36 just over six miles north of Brenham.

Authorities say Jaramillo’s vehicle ran off the road, struck a tree and slid into a nearby pond.

Washington County Justice of the Peace Ken Toefel declared Jaramillo dead at the scene.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.

  1. I have known Alex since middle school. He was always smiling and saying really funny things. I had him in English, and we sat by each other. I’ll miss him, but he’s in a better place

  3. Alex’s death made me realize that our days are limited. Honestly I’m kinda jealous Alex , I bet you’re up there telling your silly jokes just to see everyone else laugh . you are the happiest person I know , even when you aren’t happy you always smile anyway . I love that about you , oh , & that gorgeous smile of yours? you just lit up the room every where you went . you touched everyone , you were so good to everyone even when they did you wrong . I remember our last conversation like it was a few minutes ago. “I want to clean my life up & live it to the fullest bc it won’t last forever. ” you said. Then I would always go to you when me & my boyfriend fought but one day it was different , you told me ” forgive , always forgive & cherish every little moment with him bc he can easily be taken from you at any time , trust me . ” that right there got me through everything . I thank God that I had the opportunity to know you like I did . I’ll see you soon sweet Alexander ?

  4. I don’t think we realize just how many people we effect in our everyday interactions. My daughter was a friend of Alex’s, she has shed tears since it happened, there’s nothing I can do to console her but hold her. I cannot imagine how his family is feeling. I will be going to the car wash tomorrow to contribute $ to the family. It’s the least I can do. If you are reading this please go to the car wash. I believe it’s at the high school.
