BRENHAM ISD BOARD OF TRUSTEE RECOGNIZE TWO BHS STUDENTS
The Brenham ISD Board of Trustees recognized two Brenham High School students for special recognition. John Moorman for choir and Daniel Ward for band during their Board meeting Tuesday evening.
Moorman was selected as a member of the Texas All State Choir, and Ward was selected as Texas All-State Musician.
A check was presented and accepted from Graham Lodge #20 to the Brenham High School CTE Computer Science Program to purchase a 3-D printer.
The Board of Trustees also approved the election date of May 9th for the Trustee election, and an inter-local agreement for the elections with the City of Brenham, Blinn College, and Brenham ISD.
Leslie Boehnemann was nominated by the Board as a candidate for the vacated seat on the Washington County Appraisal District Board of Directors. Joel Romo resigned his Board membership, and his term runs until the end of 2015.
Brenham ISD Human Resources Director Christie Olivarez led a discussion of possible staffing formulas for the next year. She along with Kim Horne would look at compensation in the surrounding counties to see what staffing groups would look like for next year, including teachers, teaching assistants, and support staff, to try and be competitive and keep qualified teachers for leaving the area.
Also presented was the Washington County Appraisal District 2013-2014 Audit report from Seidel, Schroeder, & C.A, which noted that the district stay $54,019 under budget, and no discrepancies were found during that period.
Congratulations John and Daniel.
Young people like you bring pride not only to your families and friends, but to your school and community.
I am proud of you!
