BRENHAM ISD BOARD OF TRUSTEES TO CONTINUE SUPERINTENDENT SEARCH

The Brenham ISD Board of Trustees will continue their long search for a school superintendent this week when they meet Wednesday for a special meeting at noon at the Administrative Offices at 711 Mansfield.

Selecting a finalist is the only item on the agenda, with the next step being the Trustees holding an executive session to discuss the candidates, but any official action will occur in public session.

Over 70 application were received by the District, then were invited for interviews. The list of names was then reduced to three names, and then another round of interviews was conducted.

The search for a new superintendent has been a long process, beginning several months ago when Sam Bell stepped down January 31st, after serving as superintendent since 2009. Paul Aschenbeck has been serving as Interim Superintendent.

There is a 25 day waiting period between the time a lone candidate is announced and the candidate officially being hired.
