BRENHAM ISD BOARD TO TOUR NEW ALTON CONSTRUCTION SITE

Assistant Brenham School Supt. Byron McAdams says enough progress has been made on the new Alton Elementary School that it’s time for the school board to have a look for themselves.

After a special noon meeting of the school board Monday, the board members and the administration will take a short trip up the road, to the construction site of the New Alton Elementary in the 1200 block of South Market.  McAdams says the school is taking shape and people can now see what the school will look like when it is finished.

McAdams says the new school and the renovations at the Brenham Middle School should be done when the next school year begins in August.

Brenham School District voters approved both projects with a $26 million bond issue in May of 2012.

The tour of the new school will come after a noon meeting of the board at the district’s administrative offices at 711 Mansfield. The board will hear from the district’s finance officer Kim Horn, who will review the average daily attendance and other factors in a preliminary look at the budget projections for next year.
