BRENHAM ISD STAFF MEMBER SUSPENDED
The Brenham School Board voted to suspend without pay and terminate the probationary contract with a staff member today (Tuesday). The board took action after meeting in executive session. The staff member was employed at the Early Childhood Learning Center. Brenham Superintendent Dr. Walter Jackson released the following statement after the school board action:
“It is the mission of the Brenham Independent School District to provide an exceptional education for all students in a safe environment. Recently, a Brenham ISD staff member responded to a student in an inappropriate and unwarranted manner. Campus administration acted swiftly to address the issue. The staff member has been suspended without pay, and employment at the school district will be terminated at the end of the school year. Brenham ISD genuinely seeks to attract and hire top quality professionals to work with our students, and behavior of this kind will not be tolerated by any staff member in our district.”
The school district declined to release the name of the staff member, but did say there were no criminal charges involved in the incident.
Thank you to the amazing administrators and staff at the Early Childhood Learning Center and Brenham ISD. They have our children’s best interests in mind and do such a great job. Sad there are people who do things like this, but thankful the staff and admin take swift and appropriate action.
Glad that improvements are being made! Certainly needed from each individual who takes care of all children.
Not defending them, but this Learning Center is NEW. This is the first year it has been opened. Your daughter went there “years ago”… How? JS.
They hire almost any one. My daughter went yrs ago and she only learned new cuss words and got bit quit a bit. One woman that was there showed CLEARLY favoritism. This place needs to be looked into MORE. This is not the first time, multiple kids have probably been treated in a bad way.
