  1. Education on mental health is important for ALL of us to aquire. Starting with accountability. Change first starts with self in the absence of judgement and shift blame. A person’s actions and behavior is a direct reflection of themselves.

  2. Student mental health would be helped if the hours and hours of homework were reduced to a manageable level. My daughter has had nights in various grades where she is working on homework from the time she gets home until midnight or later. It is completely crazy. If an employee did that to employees, they would get sued or turned into the government.

    1. I’m glad to see some teachers are actually teacher the students at BISD because all I hear is how easy it is for the kids.
I hope your daughter takes advantage of the caring of the future by her teachers. Just be thankful rather then complain because when she’s very successful in life you’ll look back at this comment and think twice…
Keep up the good work BISD!

    2. As an eduactor in BISD I know for a fact – at the high school level to be specific – many teachers give students time in the class period for homework. That is so that any student who is unclear in the subject matter, or who needs extra help can get the help needed. It may very well be that your child is NOT taking advantage of the time she is given in class to get the work done, or it may be that she is procrastinating and when the work piles up she is up until midnight or later trying to meet deadlines. I see and witness both on a daily basis.
