BRENHAM ISSUES RABIES ALERT
Brenham authorities have issued a rabies alert.
Monday, a skunk was destroyed around 5:00 p.m. near the 1300 block of S. Market Street.
The skunk traveled from the 500 block of E. Sixth Street down E. Tom Green Street before he was destroyed.
The skunk was tested by the Department of State Health Services and was found positive for rabies.
Anyone who believes they or someone else may have come in contact with this animal, is asked to call: Brenham Animal Control at 979-337-7592; or the Department of State Health Services, Zoonosis Control at 254-778-6744.
Everyone is reminded to make sure pets are currently vaccinated against Rabies.
