BRENHAM MAN ACCUSED OF KILLING RELATIVE

An Iowa man is dead and a Brenham man is charged with his murder after a shooting, Tuesday night.
Just after 10:00 p.m., Brenham Police and Washington County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the 1900 block of Pecan Circle Drive in reference to shots fired.
At the scene, Officers found 71-year old Gene Saxton of Brenham, had allegedly shot one person and threatened to fire at a second victim.
According to police, the deceased was a relative of Saxton’s who was visiting from Iowa. His name has not been released pending notification of family in Iowa.
Officers arrested Saxton on charges of Murder and Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon - Family Member. He is being held in the Washington County Jail.
