BRENHAM MAN ARREST FOR TRYING TO ELUDE POLICE

  

A Brenham man faces an Evading Arrest charge after a traffic stop early Sunday morning.

Just after midnight, Sgt. Lloyd Powell was patrolling South Blue Bell Rd., when he observed a vehicle at the intersection of Blue Bell and Stone go straight from the turn only lane and cut off two vehicles.

As Powell attempted to make a traffic stop, the driver continued on. Powell followed the vehicle into a parking lot in the 2800 block of S. Blue Bell Rd. where it continued around the building toward the back.

Powell stopped his unit in front of the vehicle to prevent it from going any further behind the building where there were no lights.

23-year old John Thomas Howard of Brenham was arrested and taken to the Washington County Jail.

Howard is charged with Evading Arrest with a Motor Vehicle – a third degree felony.
