BRENHAM MAN ARRESTED FOR D.W.I. & WEAPON CHARGES

A Brenham man faces several charges after his car was pulled over early Saturday morning.

Just after midnight, Officer Hunter Andras conducted a traffic stop in the 2700 block of South Chappell Hill.

According to Andras, 39-year old Christopher Brian Brunelle appeared confused and Andras said he could smell alcohol coming from the vehicle.

Brunelle was reportedly unsteady on his feet and was not able to perform a field sobriety test.

Andras says he also located a handgun in Brunelle’s vehicle.

Brunelle is charged with Driving while Intoxicated; and Unlawful carrying a weapon.

  1. A lesson to everyone that thinks they need to drink and drive and carry a hangun in their vehicle simultaneously. An arrest for DWI in Texas is, as i understand it, a class B misdemeanor. A class B misdemeanor make it unlawful to carry a handgun in the car with you, which, apparently is a class A misdemeanor, and in some situations, could be a felony.
