BRENHAM MAN ARRESTED IN FAYETTE COUNTY SATURDAY

A Brenham man was arrested by Fayette County authorities over the weekend. Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek reports that Saturday evening at 11:15 PM, deputies responded to a report of suspicious activity on Larid Road in the Nechanitz area. The deputies located a red Tahoe and upon contact, they observed alcohol in the vehicle. The driver also attempted to discard a bag of pills believed to be ecstasy. After collecting the pills, deputies placed the driver under arrest. They also located a 9mm handgun inside the vehicle. Arrested was Nestor Sanchez Gonzalez of Brenham for Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Unlawfully Carrying a Weapon.
