BRENHAM MAN ARRESTED ON MULTIPLE CHARGES

An early-morning traffic stop has led to the arrest of a Brenham man on several charges, including outstanding warrants.
Just after 12:30 this (Wednesday) morning, Cpl. Lance Weiss conducted a traffic stop in the 400 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway.
Weiss says the driver, 29-year old Christopher Jamal Smith, appeared to be nervous;
Dispatch advised he had two active warrants out for his arrest—one for driving without a license and one for possession of marijuana.
Smith, was arrested and during a search, Weiss located marijuana in his pocket. Weiss then conducted a probable cause search on the vehicle and located five pills that tested positive for Ecstasy.
Smith is currently in the Washington County Jail.
