BRENHAM MAN SENTENCED TO 25 YEARS FOR SEXUAL ASSAULT OF A CHILD

A Brenham man has been sentenced to 25-years in prison after pleading guilty to Sexual Assault of a Child Charges in 21st District Court.

41-year old Manuel Martinez was arrested back in July of 2015, after he fled to Mexico following an investigation by Brenham Police.

Martinez eventually turned himself in to Mexican authorities who then took him to Laredo and turned him over to Brenham police.

Martinez pleaded guilty to Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child—a First Degree Felony.  He must also register as a sex offender upon release from prison.

Also in 21st District Court:

41-year old Latoya Miles of Brenham was sentenced to 10 years in prison after her probation was revoked for a 2002 conviction for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.  Miles was also fined $1000.

19-year old Victor Garcia of Brenham was sentenced to three years in prison after his probation was adjudicated for Tampeing with Physical Evidence.  Garcia was also fined $813.

25-year old Samantha Rochelle Phoenix was sentenced to prison after her probation was revoked on two charges: Assault Family Violence with a Previous Conviction and Endangering a Child.  Phoenix was sentenced to three years and fined $1000 on the Assault charge.  She was also fined $1000 and sentenced to nine months on the Endangering a Child charge.

23-year old Johnny Edmondson of Brenham was sentenced to 15 months in prison for Possession of a Controlled Substance.

50-year old Cynthia Ann Maynard of Brenham was sentenced to nine months in jail after her probation was revoked for a 2014 charge of Burglary of a Building.  Maynard was also ordered to pay $2300 in restitution.

35-year old Jesus Macias of Brenham was placed on five years’ probation and fined $3000 for an Injury to a Child charge.  Macias was also ordered to perform 300 hours of community service and have no contact with the victim.

And, 26-year old William Lawson Moorman of Brenham was placed on four years’ probation and fined $1500 for felony Possession of Marijuana.  Moorman must also perform 150 hours of community service.
