BRENHAM POLICE INVESTIGATE BURGLARY

  

Officer Heather Sowders responded to call at 2000 block of Geney Thursday afternoon around 4:21pm in reference to a burglary.

The caller said he had found three firearms missing from his residence. The caller said he had gone to his gun closet and noticed three guns were missing.  He said that he had last seem them over the weekend.

The door to the gun closet appeared to have been tampered with. He said he had arrived home and saw his wife standing outside with two males, one of which had stayed at their home before.

After they left, the caller checked his gun closet and found the weapons missing. The approximate value of the firearms was $3,000

  1. I think it’s time more responsible gun owners started to invest in gun safes. I know they are not cheap, but if we have the money to spend on guns we should make sure we have enough money to prevent them from getting into the hands of criminals. I know this story involves a victim who kept their guns in a “gun closet” and it was ” tampered with”, but obviously the determined thieves managed to get them. Buy a heavy gun safe and mount it to the floor or wall. It took two people and an appliance to move my safe, and it would take some serious work just to get it loose from where it’s bolted down. I feel better knowing that no criminal will wind up committing crimes with on of my guns, others will too.
