BRENHAM POLICE NAB BANK ROBBER

Brenham police nabbed a suspected bank robber late last (Friday) night, who had eluded FBI agents and other law enforcement officers after allegedly robbing an Austin bank.

FBI agent Justin Knebel alerted Brenhamm police Sgt. Lloyd Powell that 38-year old Derrick Terrell Nix had fled from Austin to Waller County after robbing a bank Thursday.

The agent told Powell they expected Nix to be at the Brenham HEB late Friday night.  A large contingent of Brenham police officers were at the scene at 11:43pm, when Nix drove up in his late model Ford Taurus.  The officers surrounded him and took him into custody, charged with aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon.  Nix is being held at the Washington County jail awaiting transfer to Travis County.
