BRENHAM READ RECEPTION TONIGHT

  

An author reception for this year’s Washington County Read is this (Friday) evening at Unity Theatre.

Award winning author Chitra Divakaruni will be discussing this year’s Read selection, One Amazing Thing, beginning at 5:30 p.m.

The author will speak about her book and then actors in character will read portions of her book.

The novel takes place in an Indian passport and visa office in an unnamed American city as an earthquake traps nine people there.

When panic sets in while waiting for rescue and watching the water rise, a young college student suggests that everyone tell “one amazing thing” about their life that they have never told anyone.

Copies of One Amazing Thing are available at Nancy Carol Roberts Memorial Library, The Book Nook and H-E-B and will be available for purchase at the Unity Theatre reception.
