BRENHAM SCHOOL BOARD TO ADOPT BUDGET AND TAX RATE ON MONDAY

The Brenham School Board is expected to adopt the 2016-2017 budget and tax rate during their meeting Monday evening.

The total budget has a one percent increase over last year bringing it to $40,651,000.  Most of the increase is due to the proposed 3 percent increase in pay to district teachers and personnel. The proposed tax rate for the district will remain the same at $1.135 per $100 valuation.

Board members will also discuss campus fundraisers for the 2016-2017 school year; TASB policy updates and how it effects local policies; an application to implement the Optional Flexible School Day Program at PRIDE Academy; and monetary donations to the school district.

The Board will also take time to recognize Brenham High School AP Scholars receiving a 3, 4, or 5 on the Advanced Placement exams.

The Brenham School Board will meet at 5:30 p.m. in lecture rooms 111 and 113 at Brenham High School.
