BRENHAM STATE SUPPORTED LIVING CENTER CELEBRATES 40TH ANNIVERSARY

The Brenham State Supported Living Center, known for many years as the Brenham State School, has been servingt the needs of the deveopmentally disabled for 40 years since it opened in 1974.  The Center, off highway 36 South, has over 300 clients and employs over 1000 workers.

To celebrate the Center staged a celebratory parade Friday on the 200 acre campus.  Representatives from the city and county government were on hand at the celebration Friday afternoon. Washington County Judge John Brieden read a proclamation from the county and representatives from the Chamber of Commerce, Michael McCaul's and Lois Kolkhorst's office also spoke.
