BRENHAM SUBDIVISION EXPECTED HAVE WATER BY LATE THIS AFTEROON

Residents of a Brenham subdivision are without running water today (Monday), and have been since Sunday afternoon.

Over 150 homes in the Oak Hill Acres subdivision, three miles north of Brenham on Highway 36 are without water.

Michael Connally of PGMS….the company responsible for maintaining the Oak Hill Water District system, says water should be back on by Monday afternoon.

Callers were not given a reason Sunday, as to why there was no water….just that the water district was “out of water”.

Connally says some bolts apparently sheared off between the pump and motor, causing the pump to fail.

He says a replacement pump and motor are being installed and should have water running by Monday afternoon.

Connally says once the water is back on, a Boil Water notice will be in effect until further notice.  He expects everything to be back to normal by Wednesday.

Work began in late 2015 on a backup water well for the water district, but it has not been completed.

Oak Hill Water District has been plagued with pump failures at their current well, prompting the need for a backup well.

A meeting of the Oak Hills Water District Board of Directors is scheduled for tomorrow (Tuesday) at 5:00 at the EMS building on Highway 290.  The meeting is open to all residents of Oak Hill Acres.

  1. How about this…..drill your own well and forget about the water company. To Kenny- the Oak Hill area has traditionally been pretty nice but the water issues have also been traditionally horrendous. In addition, take a look at the taxes they pay out there compared to places like Lakes of Chappell Hill, Spanish Oaks, etc….they are way higher. I personally would never own a home in Oak Hill but if I did, you better believe I’d spend the money to drill my own well and forget about all the fuss.

  2. i been drinking bottled water for over 10 years.Throughout the years I’ve known Brenham warter to have a yellow tent with a chemical smell to it. I do not let my animals drink it

  3. I am just wondering Does this On going water issue have any negative effect on property values in Oak Hill Acres? I am in the market for a new home and had considered Oak Hill, But am concerned about maybe not being able to sell (If needed) in a few years. I have heard stories of a lack of Decent water in this subdivision for years, Looks like it is not getting any better..

  4. This company is ridiculous! Water is “off” often without notification and when it is “on” it is very hard and stinks. NE Washington County, PGMS, Corix….whatever your “new” name is, you really need to get it together. Quick to bill and raise rates, if you were that prompt with service, your customers wouldn’t mind a few bumps in the road. #needawatercompanythatcares

    1. Perhaps in the future, y’all should consider having a locally-owned company run your system – people who live here and are invested in their community.
