BRENHAM TEENAGER KILLED WHILE CLEANING UP STORM DEBRIS

A 16 year old from Brenham was killed Monday morning while assisting with storm debris cleanup.

Jarrett Halfmann, the son of Russell and Lindsey Halfmann, was helping with a church group in the 2300 block of Progress Drive when a tree limb fell on him.

The tree limb had been suspended by a guy wire from a power pole.

The death is the fifth one in Washington County related to last week's storm.

Halfmann was a JV football and soccer player for Brenham High School.  Officials with the school say grief counselors are available on campus, for students and staff.

Funeral services for Halfmann are scheduled for 2:00 pm Thursday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm with Rosary at 7:00 pm at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
