BRENHAM TENNIS DOWNS WALLER, 10-9
The Brenham tennis team defeated Waller Tuesday night 10-9 in a very close match.
Brenham was down 3-4 after the round of doubles but, according to Coach Roy Thibodeaux, the team never gave up, "We knew heading into the singles that we had to win 7 out of 12 matches and everyone responded to the challenge."
Winning in boys doubles were #1 Dalton Barron and Nick Summerour 6-4, 6-0. Winning at the #3 spot was Thomas Luna and Andrew Trostle 6-3, 6-2.
Winning at the mixed doubles spot was Spencer Flynn and Abby Figueroa 2-6, 6-1, (10-6 super tie-breaker).
Winning in boys singles were #1 Dalton Barron 6-2, 7-6 (7-3). #2 Nick Summerour 6-4, 6-3. #4 Spencer Flynn 6-3, 6-4. #5 Gunnar Smith 6-3, 5-7, (10-6 super tie-breaker). #6 Andrew Trostle 6-3, 7-6 (7-4).
Winning in girls singles were #1 Abby Figueroa 6-4, 6-2, and #2 Katie Murski 7-5, 7-5.
On Sept 13 Brenham will be on the road playing Tomball Memorial.
