BRENHAM WOMAN ARRESTED FOR LATE-NIGHT ASSAULT

A Brenham woman is behind bars after threatening another woman late Thursday night.

51-year old Minnie Ragston Jackson of Brenham is charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.

Brenham Police were called out just after 11:15 p.m. to the 300 block of Martin Luther King Blvd.

A woman says she was walking along the block when she was approached by Jackson, dressed entirely in black and brandishing a knife.

The victim says after Jackson made several threatening comments, she fled to a nearby store and contacted police.

Officer Kevin Mertz located Jackson at the intersection of Schomburg and Jefferson.

Mertz said he had to draw his weapon and ordered Jackson several times to drop her knife, which she eventually did.

Authorities say she was taken to the Washington County Jail without incident.
