BRIANNA MAITLAND RECEIVES RACING AWARD/SCHOLARSHIP

Brianna Maitland of Brenham was named Runner up in the 2015 Advance Jr. Dragster Bracket Series at the 2015 Royal Purple Raceway in Baytown.

Maitland placed 2nd out of 32 competitors, despite missing three races due to Graduation and College Orientation.  She led the competition until the final race day of the series, which she could not attend due to college orientation.

Maitland has ended her Jr. Dragster career with 2008 "Rookie of the Year", numerous Wins, 3 Championships and was named 2014 "Driver of the Year".

Maitland, a 2015 Summa Cum Laude graduate from Brenham High School, also received a $1000 scholarship from Royal Purple Raceway.

Maitland is a freshman at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY, majoring in Information Technology and Web Science with a minor in Computer Science.

She is the daughter of Jeff and Marla Maitland of Brenham and Granddaughter of George Rhodes of Brenham and Gary and Janet Maitland of Flagler Beach, Fl.
