BRYAN DAYCARE CLOSED DOWN BY THE STATE

  

The state has shut down a Bryan daycare.

Investigators with the Department of Family and Protective Services say Camelot Learning Center did not make necessary improvements after a baby was dropped and severely injured last fall.

The facility has been closely monitoring since September when 5-month-old Lincoln Shumbera was reportedly dropped by a caregiver. He suffered severe head injuries and had to underto brain surgery

The state revoked Camelot's license Tuesday, saying it failed to meet minimum standards.

Officials cited several deficiencies including the severe injury to a child in December who got caught on playground equipment and choked by their jacket sleeve.

Camelot officials have 15 days to appeal the decision, but must remain closed during the entire appeals process.
