BRYAN MAN CONVICTED OF CAPITAL MURDER IN BABY’S DEATH

  

A Bryan man has been convicted of murdering a seven-month-old girl.

38-year-old Talawrence Tennell was found guilty of capital murder by a Brazos County jury Thursday night.

According to court documents, on Feb. 25, 2015 Crystal Harris left her daughter, Hailey Burleson, with Tennell while she went to pick up her other daughter for a doctor's appointment.

Authorities say Tennell called 911 to report the baby had been dropped. However, an investigation showed the baby suffered blunt force trauma, breaks in her skull, rib fractures, and a broken wrist.

Police say Tennell was high on PCP when the incident happened.

Tennell will be sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole at 9 a.m. today (Friday).
