With the non-conference victory, the Buccaneers improve to 18-12 overall and stay at 8-8 in Region XIV South Zone standings.

Angel De La Fuente had a big game with three RBIs after hitting a pair of doubles and a single. Elijah MacNamee and Colton Parrish each brought in two runs while Walker Winders added an RBI single for the Buccaneers.

Justin Penney got the win on the mound after going just 3 2-3 innings and giving up one earned run and striking out two. Tyler Woodmansee, Dakota Brewton, Weston Brown, Dillon Turney and Montana Ellstrom each came on in relief to keep Navarro off the scoreboard.

Blinn got going right from the first inning when Austen Swift walked to start the game and Sam McElreath singled to get on base. De La Fuente knocked both in with a double to left for a 2-0 lead. Parrish added to the lead in the fourth with a two-run home run to right for a 4-0 advantage. Navarro would score its lone run in the fourth to make the score 4-1.

The Buccaneers got going again in the sixth inning when De La Fuente was hit by a pitch and was later brought in to score by a single by Winders to left for a 5-1 lead.

Blinn went after a more comfortable lead in the ninth inning to close out the game as Swift and Jay Anderson both walked. MacNamee brought both in with a double to center for a 7-1 edge. De La Fuente finished the game the same way he started it by knocking in the final run with a single to center for an 8-1 lead that would hold up until the final out.

Blinn will get back into conference play on Thursday, March 31 with a doubleheader against San Jacinto College-North starting at 4 p.m.
