Buccaneers’ offense struggles in sweep to San Jacinto

Trailing 4-1 in Game 1, Blinn pieced together a two-run sixth inning on a two-run home run by freshman Jaiden Rawls, but the Lady Ravens retired the Bucs in order in the bottom of the seventh to take the victory.

Rawls took the loss in the pitching circle after allowing four runs—none earned—in seven innings of work. She struck out one and walked one.

The Blinn offense was held to four hits in the game, two coming from sophomore third baseman Peyton Webb who went 2-for-2 with an RBI and run scored.

San Jacinto never gave Blinn a chance in Game 2 with an eight-run second inning followed by a three-run third. The Lady Ravens limited the Bucs to four hits in the run-rule victory.

Webb was 1-for-3 and Rawls and Alli Spivey were 1-for-2.

Blinn has a chance to end its losing skid with a 1 p.m. doubleheader at Galveston on Saturday.
