BUCS’ SEASON ENDS IN “ELITE EIGHT”
The Blinn Buccaneers’ 2013-14 season has come to an end in the NJCAA’s “Elite Eight”.
The 13th seeded Bucs (28-7) fell to number-5 seed, Central Arizona (31-2), 86-74 at Salina, Kansas this afternoon.
The game was tied 35-35 with less than two minutes left in the first half, but a 5-0 run by Central Arizona gave them a 40-35 lead at intermission.
Central Arizona took control early in the second half and eventually built up an 18-point lead with just over two minutes left.
Tough defense and some quick baskets cut the lead to eight points with about a minute left, but Central Arizona hit their free throws and held on for the win.
This is the second-straight season the Bucs advanced to the Elite Eight round of the National Championship.
