Blinn closes out its regular season with a 1 p.m. doubleheader Saturday in Galveston. San Jacinto was swept by Alvin on Thursday, 7-2 and 2-0. That series ends Saturday in Alvin.

Dickey tossed eight innings of five-hit ball, striking out four and walking two to earn his seventh win of the season. After allowing a run in the top of the third, he retired 13 of the next 16 batters he faced.

Unable to find much offense through the first four innings, freshman Reed Robinson gave the Bucs their first lead on a fielder’s choice that scored James Duval to tie the game at 1. Blinn secured the win in the bottom of the eight with Toffan’s double that scored Caden Williams to make it a 2-1 game.

Galveston jumped ahead early in Game 2, leading 8-0 by the time the Bucs found the plate in the bottom of the fourth. A three-run sixth extended the Whitecaps’ lead. Blinn pieced together a four-run seventh that saw an RBI hit from Christian Thames, an RBI fielder’s choice by Nolan Brown and a sacrifice fly by Williams.
