Both teams struggled to score in the first half but the Buccaneers did just enough to pull out the victory and improve to 13-2 overall and 4-2 in Region XIV play.

Morris Dunnigan led Blinn with 24 points while Corey Henderson added 15 and John Dewey chipped in with 13 points. Dunnigan, Henderson and Dewey shot a perfect 16-for-16 from the free throw line in the first half as the Buccaneers only missed one out of 20 shots from the charity stripe.

Blinn has averaged over 105 points per game so far in the season but there wasn’t a lot of scoring in the first half for either team as the Buccaneers were able to eek out a 21-16 lead through 20 minutes of play.

Scoring picked up in the second half as Blinn was able to build up its lead to 14 points with a minute left to play. Tyler tried cutting into the lead but Dunnigan was able to score at the right times to help the Buccaners pull out the road victory.

Blinn will be back home Saturday, Jan. 9 when it hosts Navarro College at 4 p.m.

Blinn has competed in intercollegiate athletics since 1903 and captured 32 NJCAA national championships since 1987. For more information, visit www.buccaneersports.com.
