BUDDY RIDDLE ANNOUNCES FOR CONSTABLE PRECINCT 4

An Austin County Sheriff’s Investigator has announced plans to run for the Constable Position in Washington County Precinct 4.

H.C. “Buddy” Riddle, who lives in Burton, says he plans to run for the Precinct 4 Constable Position in Washington County in the March 6th Primary.  Mark Kramer is currently serving as Constable of Precinct 4.

Riddle has been in law enforcement since joining the Houston Police Force in 1978, where he served for 20 years.  He worked as a patrol officer, K-9 officer, motorcycle officer, and spent several years working undercover as a vice and narcotics investigator.  Riddle also served on numerous federal task forces with multiple agencies including the FBI, DEA and US Customs Service.  He has received thousands of hours of training in law enforcement, and is a certified instructor with the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement.

After retiring from the Houston Police Department, Riddle returned to school where he earned an advanced degree in Theology with a minor in Criminal Justice at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth.  He served as pastor and counseling pastor of churches in Fort Worth, Houston and Rolling Meadows, Illinois.

In 2006-2007 Riddle served in an MP Company in Iraq, where he trained Iraqi investigators in terrorism investigations.  During his tour, he was awarded the United States Defense of Freedom Medal for service and wounds he received in an attack on his police station there.

Riddle returned to Texas to be closer to his children and grandchildren and became a narcotics investigator with the Austin County Sheriff’s Office in 2013.  He is currently a criminal investigator with that office.  He has received numerous awards in his almost 40 years as a Texas Peace Officer, including 7 Mayor’s Commendations, 2 FBI Director Commendations, and the second highest award given by the Houston Police Department…The Meritorious Service Award for rescuing a fallen officer in a gun battle.

Riddle has also served as a volunteer firefighter in the position of Assistant Chief of the Cy-Fair Fire Department.  That department has 300 personnel, 10 fire stations and over 30 trucks.

Riddle says he looks forward to applying his vast law enforcement experience to the office of Constable, and appreciates everyone’s support.

November 11th is the first day candidates can file for the March Primary.  The deadline for filing is December 11th.
