BUDDY WALK COMES TO BRAZOS VALLEY SUNDAY

  

The Down Syndrome Association of Brazos Valley will hold the 13th Annual Buddy Walk this Sunday.

Melissa May, the Executive Director for the Down Syndrome Association of Brazos Valley, says the event is so much more than a “walk”:

The Buddy Walk is an important fundraiser for the Down Syndrome Association of Brazos Valley. Last year, the Buddy Walk raised over $80,000 for the organization. The money raised during the Buddy Walk enables a variety of educational and social programs throughout the year to benefit people with Down syndrome. Some of these programs include a summer program in which students work on reading, math and independence skills, as well as sign language classes, dances, and computer classes.

Buddy Walk will take place at the Wolf Pen Creek Amphitheatre from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. KTEX's Trail Boss Troy will be there from 8:30- 9:30 a.m.
