BUILDING AND STANDARDS TO MEET TO DISCUSS OLD ST. ANTHONY BUILDING

The Building and Standards Commission will meet today (Thursday) to hear a potential plan concerning the St. Anthony Laundry Building in Brenham.209 S Market story

The building has sustained weather damage due to holes where windows used to be located. Now after years of exposure, the roof has collapsed and the building has been classified as an “unsafe structure”.

In a previous meeting, the Building and Standards Commission heard from John Elford, the owner of Elford Building Corporation. Elford revealed that he had submitted a letter of intent to buy the building. He is expected to present the Commission with a detailed plan on remodeling the building to make it structurally safe once again.

The Building and Standards Commission will meet on Thursday at 5:15 p.m. in the second floor council chambers in City Hall.
