BUILDING PERMIT DOLLARS UP IN MARCH FOR BRENHAM

  

The dollar amount for Building Permits issued by the City of Brenham in March was up over the same period last year, even though the number of permits was down.  In March, Brenham issued 15 permits for a total of $1.9 million.  That compares to 33 permits issued in March of 2017 for a total of $841,000.

The largest permit issued in March was to Blinn College for the remodeling of the food service area in the Student Center.  Collier Construction will be doing the remodel estimated to cost $1.2 million.  Two new residence starts were also issued.  Those new homes will be constructed by Stylecraft Builders.

So far this year, Brenham has issued 63 building permits for a total of $14.6 million.  During the first 3 months in 2017, Brenham issued 156 permits for $10.2 million.
