BUILDING PERMIT FOR NEW GOODWILL STORE BOOSTS JUNE PERMITS

  

Building permits in Brenham continue to run well ahead of last year’s pace.

Thirty-eight permits were issued in the month of June for a total of $3,289,605.

That brings the total value of the permits issued for 2016 to $30,707,231.  At this same point last year, the permits issued totaled $17,630,536.

The single-largest permit issued this past month was for construction of a new Goodwill Select Store to be located at 2804 Wood Ridge Blvd., near Home Depot and Discount Tires.  The permit is for $1,500,000.

A permit valued at $750,000 has been issued for construction of a new building for Select Furnishings at 1900 Highway 290 West.

Four permits for new residences were issued for a total of $406,500.  For the year, 32 new residence permits have been issued for a total of $2,860,366.

Also issued this past month was a permit valued at $90,000 to repair the existing parking lot at Los Cabos Restaurant at 2800 Highway 36 South.

  1. I love Goodwill, but I hope people will choose to first support our existing local ministry resale shops (Higgins for Faith Mission, Hospice Boutique for Hospice Brazos Valley, the Corner Shoppe for Bridge Ministry in Burton, etc.).

  2. Happy to see that we are getting a Good Will Store here. I just hope they don’t price themselves out of the market like the other resale shops have done!!!
