BURGER TO BRING LOCOMOTIVE TO BRENHAM FOR FILM SHOOT

A replica of American history could be coming to Brenham in the months ahead.

Film maker Roy Burger, who last week was granted a lease of 109 acres of land by the city for the filming of “Burning of Brenham”, has posted a photo of an 1800’s locomotive he says will be used in the filming of the movie.

Burger posted the photo to his Facebook page with the caption, “This `Locomotive is owned by my good friend Dave Koke…He is bringing it to Brenham to be in the Movie - Burning Of Brenham.”Locomotive story

According to Burger, it took Koke over three years to construct the locomotive.

Thursday, the Brenham City Council approved leasing the former landfill property on Old Navasota Road to Burger.

Back in August of 2014, Burger signed a an agreement with local author Sharon Brass to produce a film based on her book, chronicling Texas’ early development, focusing on Brenham and the six Giddings brothers who came to Texas from Pennsylvania.

Burger posts that the movie will begin filming in a couple of months.

Burger has worked on over 100 feature films, television movies and TV series.
