A Burleson County Sheriff’s deputy was shot and killed this (Thursday) morning as he, along with a team officers were trying to serve a warrant.
Reports from the Sheriff’s office say Sgt. Investigator Adam Sowders took fire at a residence in the southern end of the county when he tried to serve the warrant at 5:50 am. The Burleson County Sheriff’s office confirmed Sowders died of his injuries. The suspect in the shooting is in custody.
The Burleson County Sheriff’s office with the help of Texas Rangers, are continuing their investigation into the incident.
