BURLESON STREET AND LOUNGE ROAD CLOSED SUNDAY

  

On Sunday, the Texas Department of Transportation’s contractor will temporarily close Burleson Street and Lounge Road at the SH 36 underpass. 

This closure will allow the contractor to set the bridge beams over the railroad tracks for the proposed SH 36 southbound main-lanes. Message boards will be in place to direct traffic to Dixie Road and Pledger Road. Both Burleson Street and Lounge Road will be back open to through traffic by the end of the day on Sunday.

This work is part of a $14.3 million project to widen SH 36 to a four-lane divided highway between US 290 West and BS 36 in Brenham. The project is contracted to Angle Brothers Holding Corp. out of Baytown and is expected to be complete by spring 2018.
