BURTON BOND EARLY VOTING TAKING PLACE AT ADMINISTRATION BUILDING

  

Voters in the Burton school district that wish to cast their vote early on the proposed $18 million bond issue can do so through November 4th.burton high school feature

Early voting on the bond issue is taking place at the Burton ISD Administration Building, located at 701 North Railroad Street in Burton. Hours for early voting are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Voting on the issue will also take place at the Burton-area voting boxes on November 8th including: the Burton Community Center, Emmanuel Lutheran Church at Greenvine, Sons of Hermann Hall in Gay Hill and St. John Lutheran Church of Prairie Hill.

The Burton school district is seeking voter approval to issue $18 million in bonds to fund facility improvements. The bond issue would require a 31 cent increase in the tax rate for the district. The average homeowner in the district with a home valued at 158 thousand dollars would see their taxes go up $494 per year beginning in 2017 if the bond issue passes.
