BURTON CITY COUNCIL TO DISCUSS WATER WELL
The Burton City Council will discuss financing for a new city water well when they meet, Monday night.
The council will discuss financing options with U.S. Capital Advisors for a new well to replace a backup well that collapsed back in January due to a lightning strike.
The city is using a well they drilled in 2012, with a $250,000 grant. However, a grant for a new backup well may not be possible at this time.
City officials say a backup to the current well is vital for the city.
The council will also discuss setting a tax rate; amending the city’s dog ordinance to include dangerous canines; repairs and paving of Brazos Street; and new software for emergency dispatch.
The Burton City Council meets Monday at 5:30 at City Hall on East Mulberry St.
This has been an ongoing problem with water wells since I moved here in 1996. Lets borrow the money and fix the issue once and for all!
