BURTON HERITAGE SOCIETY TO HOST TEXAS RANGER DAY

  

The Burton Heritage Society will host a Texas Ranger Day on Saturday, March 14 to celebrate different aspects and history of Burton.

There will be a living history display of the Texas Ranger 1880’s camp life, and folklife demonstration.

There will be old-fashion games for the kids, a tour of the 1898 Burton Railroad Deport, and the Burton Famers Gin at the Texas Cotton Gin Museum at 10am and 2pm.

Theer will also be live music by Slim Bawb and the Fabulous StumpGrinders, and many more.

Also featured will be a silent auctions to raise needed funds for the Mt. Zion Historical Chapel at Mt. Zion Cemetery, which for over 100 years has been a part of the social and religious fabric of the Burton Community. This church as served as the closest church prior to and during construction of other churches, as well as a gathering place for celebration and gatherings.
