BURTON ISD TO HOLD HEARING ON BECOMING DISTRICT OF INNOVATION
The Burton Independent School District Board of Trustees will hold a public hearing on Tuesday to discuss becoming as District of Innovation.
The board will consider approving a Burton ISD District Innovation Committee to develop a District of Innovation plan.
During the 84th Texas Legislative session, the legislature passed House Bill 1842, which permits Texas public school districts to become a District of Innovation. The designation allows for districts to have more flexibility with a number of issues such as calendar decisions and certain certification requirements.
The hearing will be held on Tuesday, February 14th at 6:45 p.m. at the Administration Office- located at 701 North Railroad Street.
