BURTON MAN ARRESTED FOR AGGRAVATED ASSAULT WITH A DEADLY WEAPON

A Burton man has been arrested by Washington County Sheriff’s Deputies on various charges including Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.  According to Sheriff Otto Hanak, on Wednesday, January 31, Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of domestic abuse at a residence on Cane Pole Lane near Burton.  The victim told deputies that she and a family member identified as James Clyde Anthony had been arguing.  Victim stated that during the argument, Anthony struck her with a pistol in which the she suffered an injury to her head.

Warrants were later issued by Precinct 1 Justice of the Peace Doug Zwiener for Anthony’s arrest.  Anthony, age 48, was located at his residence and taken into custody on Tuesday, February 13.    He was arrested without incident and transported to the Washington County Jail where he was charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, and Terroristic Threat.  Anthony remains in custody with bonds totaling $111,500.00.
