BURTON MAYOR ELECTION HAPPENING SATURDAY

Citizens of Burton will go to the polls this weekend to cast their vote for Mayor.

Incumbent Peggy Felder is facing off against David Zajicek.

Felder, who has been Mayor for the past 10 years, is a lifetime resident of Burton. She also served as Mayor for five years in the 1990s.

Felder says there are a number of projects she wants to see completed if she is elected again:

David Zajicek is the editor and publisher of the Burton Bulletin, a monthly newsletter about the city.

He previously served as a past president and treasurer of the Burton Heritage group. Zaijicek was in the U.S. Army, completing a tour in Vietnam. He was also the co-founder and president of the Baildon Insurance Group.

If elected Mayor, Zaijcek says he would work to improve the city’s infrastructure. Zaijcek also says he would like to attract more businesses to Burton by creating an economic development plan.

Voting will take place on Saturday at Burton High School from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
