BURTON SCHOOL BOARD APPROVES PAY RAISE

The Burton School Board has approved a pay raise for the coming school year.

At their meeting Monday night, the board passed an average 3% pay increase for all administrators, teachers and non-professional staff.

According to Burton Superintendent Edna Kennedy, the move follows recommendations by a Texas Association of School Board salary study for the 2016-17 school year.

Also at last (Monday) night’s meeting, the board approved a 2017 trip to Florida for the Burton High School Band.  The band’s members will participate in a Disney “It’s Instrumental” workshop.

The board also appointed Ricky Kiecke to the Facilities Building Committee.

Two teacher hiring’s were also approved: Jenette Mathis will teach 2nd Grade reading, language arts and social studies; and Michelle Cloud will instruct 3rd Grade math, science and fine arts.

  1. What, no mid-point pay increase like they do here in Brenham or did the press release miss that one Hopefully Burton is wise enough not to use that dishonest method of pay increases like we do here in Brenham.
