BURTON SCHOOL BOARD LOOKING TO BUY USED SCHOOL BUSES

  

The Burton School Board is looking for a really good deal on some used school buses.

When the Board meets Monday  at the school district’s administrative offices, they will consider purchasing used school buses for a total of $120,000.  Supt. Jim Palmer says the current school bus fleet in over 15 years old and they are beginning to have mechanical problems.  The board is looking at buy two used buses that are six years old.

Palmer says new school buses would cost approximately $90,000 each.

 

The Board will use a budget amendment to acquire the buses.

Palmer says the Burton District is continuing to look for a buyer for the old elementary school.  The school property has not been used for several years  and Palmer says they have been trying to sell the property for about two years.

The Burton School Board meets Monday at 6:30pm at the School District Administrative offices at 701 North Railroad Street.
